Quill · the second reader

Rules first. AI only if you invite it.

Quill reads your whole world and checks your draft against it. The classic seven hats run on rules, on your machine, free basics included. Quill Super adds a local AI layer for those who want it. It never sends your writing anywhere, never nags, and works fine forever without it.

Hat 1 of 7 · Free forever

Editor

Catches tired prose and offers the sharper line.

The hall was very quiet. Very, very quiet.

Quill: Repetition: "very" ×3 in two sentences.

Keep one. Cut two.

Quill

Rule-based, always on, on demand. Opens with your chapter, analyzes when you ask, never while you type.

  • Seven hats, typed findings
  • Click-to-jump inline marks
  • Editor hat free forever
Opt-in · local AI

Quill Super

For people who like AI and want to use it. Downloadable models that run on your machine, grounded in your world.

  • Runs on your device, nothing leaves it
  • Off unless you turn it on, never forced
  • Uninstall the model anytime, Quill keeps working

Seven hats, one reader.

Pick a hat to see what it checks and how a finding looks. Editor is free; the rest unlock with Keystone or Quill.

Free forever · Hat 1 of 7Editor

Prose craft on rules, not vibes. Repetition, filter words, passive voice, dialogue tags, quotes and spelling, flagged with inline fixes you accept or ignore.

Three "very"s in one paragraph.

Quill: One click takes the strongest sentence and leaves the rest.

Keystone or Quill · Hat 2 of 7Continuity

Cross-references your prose against the world bible. Misspelled names, characters acting out of knowledge, terminology drift. Every hit jumps straight to its line.

You typed Jon. The bible says John.

Quill: One click lands on the exact line. Fix or register the alias.

Keystone or Quill · Hat 3 of 7Story

Simulates the whole book in binder order and tracks state: who holds what, who is where, what is true. The dropped dagger that gets used three chapters later stays found.

A heirloom changes hands in chapter 4.

Quill: Story remembers who holds it in chapter 9.

Keystone or Quill · Hat 4 of 7Narrative

Pacing and tension under a lens. Cliffhangers, dead zones, exposition density, and every Chekhov gun checked for whether it ever fired.

A planted pistol never fires.

Quill: Narrative files it under guns that stayed silent.

Keystone or Quill · Hat 5 of 7Analyst

Per-chapter statistics and coverage. Pacing curves, POV balance, dialogue ratios. The shape of your draft, measured.

Chapter 12 runs 80% dialogue.

Quill: Analyst shows the spike against the book average.

Keystone or Quill · Hat 6 of 7Fight

Spots probable fight scenes by action-verb density, so you can jump straight to the choreography instead of hunting for it.

A quiet paragraph hides a brawl.

Quill: Verb density lights it up. Jump straight in.

Keystone or Quill · Hat 7 of 7Lore

Flags capitalized terms your codex does not know. Register them as canon or fix the spelling. Nothing invented slips past.

"Virelai" appears nowhere in the codex.

Quill: Register it, or correct it on the spot.

Super, under the hood.

An opt-in local layer. Download a model, run it on a loopback server with your GPU or CPU, ask it about your own material. Every answer is grounded in your bible, dossiers, bonds and notes, with the sources shown. It never invents canon.

Models on your machine

Sharp, swift and grand rungs in standard or unfiltered variants. Resumable downloads, GPU or CPU, unload anytime.

Delve chapter augury

Reads, judges, counsels, then dreams example fixes as ghost lines. Drafts only, never auto-written into your book.

Ask second opinions

Challenge any finding and get a verdict, agree, disagree or nuance, with the reasoning attached.

Consult chat

Ask about your world in plain words. Answers stream with citation chips for the material used.

Memory that earns trust

Facts, candidates, summaries and skills per world and book. Approve or reject once and it holds, ignored ideas decay.

Off means off

No model, no second opinions, no nagging. Classic Quill keeps working exactly as before.

1 · Download a model2 · Run it locally3 · Unload anytime
Stays on your machine

Local models, local loopback, local files. Your writing never travels.

No accounts, no telemetry

Nothing to sign into, nothing phoning home. The app works offline.

Yours to remove

Delete the model and Super is gone. Quill keeps reading, rules intact.

Questions, answered.

AI or rules?

Rules. The seven hats are deterministic checks that run on your machine. Super adds an optional local model for second opinions and deeper reads, only if you install it.

Does my writing leave my machine?

No. Analysis runs locally, Super talks to a server on your own loopback address, and there are no accounts or telemetry.

Do I need Super?

No. Classic Quill is complete on its own. Super is for people who like AI and want a grounded second mind on their draft.

Is Super desktop only?

Yes. The local model server needs the desktop app. Classic Quill ships in the app the same way.

Does Quill work with the Free plan?

Yes. Editor basics are free forever, and the full Quill add-on works alongside Free or Keystone.
